Senate
The Senate is the governing authority of the academic matters of the University including education, research and examinations. The Senate regulates the matters related to course of study and examinations, appointment of examiners, awarding of Degrees, medals, prizes, and scholarships following the recommendation of the Faculty Boards concerned. The Senate of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka comprises the Vice-Chancellor, the Deans of the six faculties, the Heads of each Department, every permanent professor at the University, the Librarian, and two elected members from among the Senior Lectures of each Faculty.
