The “Varsity Battles Capital Market Quiz Competition” second cluster was held at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka on 22nd October 2024. This event was jointly organized by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the University Business Linkage Cell and the Career Guidance Unit of the university.

Four universities—Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, University of Jaffna, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, and University of Peradeniya—participated in the competition. The Faculty of Applied Sciences at Rajarata University emerged as the cluster-winning team, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 100,000.00. The Faculty of Management Studies and the Faculty of Applied Sciences from Rajarata University placed as the first and second runners-up, respectively, with all three teams qualifying for the final quiz competition.

The event was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Mrs.) GAS. Ginigaddara, deans from the faculties, Director of the Career Guidance Unit Dr. H.O. Wijewardhane, Acting Director of the University Business Linkage Cell Mr. Kasun Gamage, and other academic and non-academic staff members of the university. Representing the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Sri Lanka, attendees included Ms. Sanjeewani Bakmeedeniya, Senior Manager of Capital Market Education at SEC; Mr. Tharaka Amarasena, Manager of the CSE Education Academy; Mr. Awishaka De Alwis, Senior Assistant Manager of Marketing and International Relations at CSE; along with other CSE and SEC staff members.
