On June 18, 2024, a distinguished delegation from the Changshu Research Institute of Southwest University, People’s Republic of China, visited Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. The primary objective of this visit was to explore potential academic collaborations between the two esteemed institutions.
The Chinese delegation was led by Dr. TenHong Ning, the Dean of the Institute. He was accompanied by Ms. OuWen Jun, Coordinator of International Relations, and Mrs. Ten, Assistant Secretary to the Dean. Their discussions focused on fostering international partnerships, enhancing academic exchange programs, and collaborating on research initiatives.
Representing Rajarata University, Prof. (Mrs). GAS Ginigaddara, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. P.H.G. Janaka Pushpakumara, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Dr. Manoj Fernando, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. W. P. Wijewardena, Director of the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education, and Dr. Chinthaka Karalliyadda, Director of International Relations Unit.
The meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening ties between the two universities, with both parties expressing keen interest in developing mutually beneficial academic and research opportunities.
