Ukraine, which is known as the granary of Europe since the 19th century holds many successful stories about European agricultural Systems including organic agricultural systems. An especial Ukraine delegate Dr Eugene Milovanov, the President/CEO of Organic Federation of Ukraine and an executive member of International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM) visited Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) on 24th January 2022 on his exploratory visit to Sri Lanka.

A discussion with Dr Eugene, hosted by Prof. (Mrs.) G.A.S Ginigaddara, the Vice-Chancellor of RUSL, held at the University premises looking for future collaborations in knowledge and resource sharing that can mutually benefit both parties. In this discussion, Dr Eugene shared his ideas about the global organic agriculture, Indian and Sri Lankan organic movements as well as potentials and challenges for further development of the sector. He invited RUSL to join the upcoming Organic Conference in Ukraine as the first step of the collaboration and invited articles for their Scientific Horizon journal as well.
