Pakistani Delegates Bring Exciting Higher Education Opportunities for Sri Lankan Students

Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched the “Allama Iqbal Scholarships for Sri Lankan Nationals” program, extending a generous hand to students in Sri Lanka. On May 10th, 2024, a team from HEC, along with representatives from eight renowned Pakistani universities, visited Rajarata University of Sri Lanka to introduce this initiative.
The scholarship program, named as part of the “Pak-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Program,” aims to strengthen educational ties between the two countries. It represents a significant effort by the Government of Pakistan to support Sri Lankan students in pursuing higher education opportunities.
During their visit to Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, the delegation met with university officials, including the Vice Chancellor, Prof (Mrs.) G.A.S Ginigaddara and Deans of faculties, to discuss the details of the scholarship program. This program offers opportunities for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD studies, providing Sri Lankan students with access to quality education in Pakistan’s leading universities.
The initiative not only demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in education but also opens doors for Sri Lankan students to explore new horizons in their academic journey. It signifies a positive step towards enhancing educational opportunities and strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
