Physical Education Division
The Division of Physical Education (DOPE) of RUSL was established on 15th July 1997 and it provides a wide range of sports and recreational programmes for the weal of the student community of the University.
Our Goals and Objectives
It is the considered opinion of the Division of Physical Education of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka that the education of young people is not only mind and body, which are involved but also two parts in equal amounts. Division of Physical Education’s goal is to awaken young people the awareness that life-long practice of sports can help in the quest for self-improvement and secondary effects such as better hygiene and health.
The main objective of the Division is to promote and improve the students sporting abilities and provide opportunities to develop individual and team sports and Physical Education for the students of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
The Sports Advisory Board consisting of Academic staff members, Administrative staff members and the staff members of the Physical Education Division functions in an advisory capacity.
The Sports Council, appointed annually, functions as the students organizing arm of the Division. Local communities and the outsiders can use the University sports facilities (such as University playground, and the swimming pool) under the certain terms and conditions.

Mission
Provide widest range of sports and recreational facilities, increase level of participation, improved sports performance and increase the participation of intra, national and international level.
