Scimago institution ranking is one of the most prestigious systems for research-based ranking. Scimago journal rankings are used for presidential awards for scientific in Sri Lanka as well. RUSL was included in first place in the year 2022 and RUSL was included in Scimago institutional ranking for the first time in 2022, and RUSL ranked the best university in Sri Lanka based on the research percentile.
