On November 27, 2023, the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Mihintale, officially opened its new sewage and wastewater treatment plant. The goal of this project is to enhance the quality of the water, guarantee that the water discharged satisfies or beyond regulatory requirements, and maintain public health. Professor (Mrs.) G.A.S. Ginigaddara, Vice Chancellor of Rajarata institution of Sri Lanka, opened the plant. Several academic and non-academic authorities from the institution, including the Registrar, Bursar, and Deans of their respective faculties, attended the occasion.
