Appreciating the Contributions to Social Reconciliation and Book Launching

The Rajarata University student activists those took part in organizing the “Food Festival and Environmental Heritage” program for creating leadership in social reconciliation were appreciated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) GAS. Ginigaddara in an event held on 10th January 2024. The event was colored by the participation of the most reverend Professor Attangane Rathanapala Thero, Supreme Judicial Leader of Sri Lanka Ramanya Maha Nikaya, and other distinguished guest from the Norther Central Province, the Dean and Heads of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Director Social Reconciliation Center Faculty Social Reconciliation Coordinators, and the student activists and the students of the faculty.
Fifty students selected from all faculties were given exposure to the grounded essence of the social harmony by way of interaction through a food festival combined with appreciation of the environmental heritage of both North and North Central Province cultures during last year. This event was organized to appreciate the students and Faculty Coordinators of Social Reconciliation for their contribution in organizing and conducting the program. The value of the event was further enhanced by launching a book related to environmental ethics where the author KAJ. Sandun Jayasuriya was also an active student in social reconciliation and environment relationship activities.
The Vice Chancellor highly appreciated the social reconciliation activities and concentrated attention on the importance of ethical consideration for the sustainability of our environment and the future of the earth.
