Commercializing Theme Park Concept Development for Anuradhapura

Rajarata University of Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ceylon Miracle Hotels (Pvt) Limited on April 18, 2024, with the objective of commercializing Theme Park Concept for the Anuradhapura City. The signing ceremony was held at the University premises and was graced by the esteemed presence of Professor (Mrs.) GAS. Ginigaddara, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Mr. Amal Piyathilake, the Managing Director of Ceylon Miracle Hotels (Pvt) Limited.
The ‘Theme Park Concept Development’is aproject endeavor of the Faculty of Management Studies. The primary aim of this initiative was to foster the growth of the tourism industry in the region, which is currently stagnated. Ceylon Miracle Hotels (Pvt) Limited is an emerging entity in the field of tourism and hospitality industry, possesses the capability and initiative to spearhead the implementation of this concept in Anuradhapura, with the backing of multiple investors.
The research team comprised Prof. Manoj Samarathunga, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Management Studies, Mr. KTLUS. Dayangana, Head of the Department and a Senior Lecturer, and Mr.DDP. Sanjeewa, lecturer (probationary) attached to the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Management Studies. Representing Rajarata University of Sri Lanka at the event were Prof. PMB. Jayathilake, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies; academic and University Business Linkage Cell coordinators. In attendance from Ceylon Miracle Hotel (Pvt) Limited were Mrs. Chandani Perera, Director, and Ms. Nethumni Piyathilake, both of whom participated in the event to witness this significant collaboration.
