The Rajarata University Toastmasters Club held its Club Officer Installation Ceremony for the year 2024/2025 on July 25th2024at the Faculty of Management Studies Auditorium with the theme “Toast to Excellence.” The Chief Guest for the evening was Professor (Mrs) GAS. Ginigaddara, Vice Chancellor of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, whose attendance highlighted the institution’s endorsement of the Toastmasters program as a vital component of personal and professional development.The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Guest of Honor, District Director Distinguished Toastmaster Ganaga Fernando.
A key moment of the evening was the keynote address delivered by Distinguished Toastmaster Sudhash Liyanage. His speech provided a compelling narrative on the principles of effective communication and leadership, core tenets of the Toastmasters mission. The Installation Ceremony was an opportunity not only to formally induct the new Executive Committee but also to acknowledge the accomplishments of the outgoing team. The 2024/2025 Executive Committee, comprised of the President Toastmaster Shobha Gunathilaka, Vice President Education Toastmaster Thilini Nirath, Vice President Membership Toastmaster Sachithra Bandara, Vice President Public relations Toastmaster Sadeep Gunathunga, Secretary Toastmaster Harshani Wijewardane, Treasurer Toastmaster Rasanjalee Kularathne and Sargent at arms Toastmaster Amith Badara, was introduced to the audience and formally installed by Toastmaster Wasana Eshwara, Area Director Area H1, Division H. This transition marked the beginning of a new chapter for the club, with fresh leadership poised to advance the club’s goals and foster a dynamic environment for leadership and communication skills development. The event also featured reflections on the previous year’s achievements and a discussion on the vision for the upcoming term.
